I'm hoping my soon to be HS grad will read this when I share it with her. It spoke to me as a 50 something mother of 4 who's been out of the paid workforce for 20+ years. Thank you! I absolutely devoured your book, Real American. My favorite of the pandemic years!

Hi Julie- My kiddo is heading to UPS in the fall. Isn't it a good place? Everyone is so stunningly NICE- none of this California kids climbing on each others shoulders to try to achieve and do better. Maybe just learning some stuff- to learn of all things. Great speech. I will be sharing it with my soon to be high school grad.

Thank you for taking us along on this ride with you, Julie, what a beautiful post and amazing message that you gave the graduates, and us.

This really stood out to me: “Here's the magic, you belong everywhere, because you take that self-loving self with you wherever you go” 💕✨🌺

I appreciate your question, about what we’d say to folks graduating and moving into life after school!

A commencement speech that I gave would be some version of…

The people who love you… they want you to be well.

It might not seem like that from the inside.

We can feel pressure from the people who love us!

But the truth is that those who love you want you to be well.

Everything’s better when we feel well. We are happier, the world feels like a safer and more joyful place.

And your being well means that you can support those you love SO MUCH BETTER than when you don’t feel well.

So, I’m curious… Is there a gap between what you’re doing on a daily basis, and a feeling inside of being well? And if so… What’s that about?

Could be useful information as you head out into your life.

I’m curious about this too… What if YOU were a person in your life who loved you and wanted you to be well?

I am wishing you well as you create your life. I’m glad that we are in the world together! and I’m cheering for you – for us all.

We all deserve to be well. It’s how we rise, and it’s how we can create the world we really want to be living in.

Lots of love to you, from me.
