I get more chances to chat with young kids in public now that I use a mobility scooter. It draws questions and appreciation, and I enjoy the curiosity and delight of small children.

Your notion of talking to strangers has been such a revelation for me! Just want to say I see you!

i'm so glad! i do indeed love strangers. . . not exactly sure why. . . but i think part of it is the delight at crossing that boundary and watching each of us discover we're both okay!

I talk to kids on bikes every chance I get. Bicycles bring a big smile to my face. Freedom and Joy.

I have really enjoyed people opening the door for me lately. A man and his kid let me go ahead at REI this past weekend. I appreciate that a lot.

I saw old friends last night at a cookout, and my people listened and laughed at my stories. Which is something my family doesn't do very well. So last night was a pleasure!

i'm so glad you're getting doors opened for you and that your cookout friends listened and laughed. sometimes family walks in the other direction from what we need. why is that, i wonder? and thank goodness for those who can give you what you're looking for!

I interact every working day with young people, so this is an easy one for me. How we react to and interact with young people is critical in many ways, in my case in ways which either help or hinder their growth and development, including their relationship to adults, which if it is not healthy is disastrous.
