Welcome to my first ever Julie’s Pod listicle of things I loved this month. That’s right, twelve times a year I’ll share stuff I’ve encountered lately that I want you to know about.

This month’s items include books, streaming video, podcasts, clothing, and handmade objects. You and I quite likely have very different tastes, yet I hope that even just one item on this month’s list will tickle your fancy!

(Oh and this is a component of the paid tier of Julie’s Pod (so thank you for subscribing!))

1. Handmade Objects: aka This is Why We Have Etsy.

One day, I receive a small package in the mail from Michelle, a member of Julie’s Pod. I’m intrigued just to be getting a gift from one of y’all in the first place. Wow! But then I open it and find the most truly adorable object (picture on left). I’m squealing in my kitchen, “IT’S MY BOOKS!”

Look closely and you’ll see that it’s not just teeny-tiny versions of my books but an ornament. The books tumble around quite satisfyingly as I turn the globe in my hands. I was so grateful to Michelle for her thoughtfulness, and for the ingenuity of the artist, Meg out of Jacksonville Florida, who goes by ComfortIllustration on Etsy and Instagram. In addition to ornaments, Meg also puts tiny books inside lovely small jars (photo on the right). It’s a unique and adorable gift for a book lover. And for an author? Just, wow. Makes me want to write more books! Jesus when am I gonna do that 😜

2. Speaking of Books: Enjoy Some Truth and Some Lies (ie, Fiction).
